HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal

HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Alfaisal began his leadership career in the sports sector with his appointment as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Sports Authority, with the rank of minister, in 1440 AH. He was subsequently appointed Minister of Sport in 1441 AH following the transformation of the General Sports Authority into the Ministry of Sport. His Royal Highness also serves as President of the Saudi Olympic & Paralympic Committee and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Equestrian Authority, in addition to chairing and serving on a number of other committees. Through his membership of the Club’s Board of Directors, His Royal Highness contributes to the Board’s work and to deliberations on the directions, policies and plans governing horse racing. Drawing on his extensive experience in leading the sports sector, he supports the alignment of the Club’s activities with the Kingdom’s wider sports ecosystem, while contributing to the development of horse racing and strengthening its presence both domestically and internationally. At regional and international levels, His Royal Highness serves as President of the Union of Arab Football Associations, the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees and the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation. He also holds a number of memberships on regional and international sports councils and committees. Prior to assuming his leadership roles, His Royal Highness pursued a career in motorsport, competing in a number of domestic and international championships. He was twice crowned champion of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, in the 2009/2010 and 2011/2012 seasons, before transitioning to leadership roles within the sports sector. Academically, His Royal Highness earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from King Saud University and subsequently pursued further studies in political science at SOAS University of London. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the College of Business Administration (CBA) in Jeddah. His interest in motorsport also led him to graduate from the Formula BMW Racing School in Bahrain in 2005.
