HRH Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al Faisal​

His Royal Highness was appointed by Royal Order on 26 Ramadan 1438 AH as an Adviser at the Royal Court with the rank of Minister. He also serves as Chairman of the Saudi Equestrian Authority, in addition to chairing and serving on a number of other committees. Since assuming the chairmanship of the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness has guided a major phase in the development of horse racing in the Kingdom. This has included advancing the Club’s policies and programmes, raising racing standards, strengthening competitiveness at domestic and international levels, and working to build a world-class horse racing industry. Key milestones during this period include the launch of The Saudi Cup in 2020 and Saudi Arabia’s elevation to Part II status within the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) classification framework, alongside an expanded Saudi presence in the international racing community and the hosting of major racing events and conferences. This growing presence has extended across the regional and international racing landscape. Under His Royal Highness’s chairmanship, the Club has strengthened its ties with the global racing community through its membership of the Asian Racing Federation (ARF), while His Royal Highness has participated in ARF conferences and other international racing industry forums. In 2026, Riyadh hosted the 41st Asian Racing Conference for the first time. Organised by the Asian Racing Federation and hosted by the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia, the conference was opened by His Royal Highness and brought together more than 600 racing leaders, experts, decision-makers and industry representatives from around 40 countries and regions worldwide. As Chairman of the Events Committee, His Royal Highness leads the Committee’s oversight of major events and Cups, approving their overall framework and annual programmes, while ensuring the integration of their organisational, operational, media, promotional, cultural and service components. This contributes to enhancing the quality of delivery, profile and standing of these events. Alongside his role in horse racing, His Royal Highness has extensive experience across business, media and cultural affairs. He co-founded the Arab Thought Foundation and serves as Chairman of its Board of Directors. He has also chaired a number of boards in the media, printing and publishing sectors and contributed to the establishment of Sama Airlines. His Royal Highness holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and a Master’s degree from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in the United States, with a focus on international business and technology policy.
