PUREBRED ARABIAN EVENT SUPPORTED BY HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCE FAISAL BIN KHALED

Tuesday August 4, 2026: Riyadh Racing Season is set to be boosted by a new SAR1m contest, staged on the HRH Prince Faisal bin Khaled bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sponsored racecard and open to three-year-old Purebred Arabians.

The Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Cup, held over 1600m on November 21, 2026, will now sit alongside the Taif Racing Season’s Group 3 King Faisal Cup as one of the two biggest prize money races for three-year-old Purebred Arabians in Saudi Arabia.

Held during Riyadh Racing Season on the same card as the two SAR1m Prince Faisal bin Khaled-sponsored Thoroughbred contests over 1600m – the Princess Setah bint Fahad Aldamer Cup for two year old fillies and the Prince Faisal Bin Khaled bin Abdulaziz Cup for two year old colts and geldings - the Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Cup is the first Purebred Arabian contest supported by the Red Stables principle.

The evening will be rounded off by the Listed Crown Prince Cup over 2400m for Thoroughbreds which also carries a purse of SAR1m on a lucrative day of racing in Riyadh.

The preservation and development of Purebred Arabian racing is a key focus for the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia and the addition of the Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Cup is representative of the continued support for this code of racing in The Kingdom.
